Friday News: May 5, 2023
The BMS and BHS bands and choirs perform at the spring concert tonight. Our students sounded great. Thank you Mr. Bernard and Ms. Hardman for leading these programs and growing our students musical talents! Thank you to all the parents, extended family, and teachers that came out to support a great event!
The BMS football team participated in a jamboree at North Panola this afternoon. Our new 6th graders got to get their feet wet in their first middle school game. Looking forward to the Fall season. Go Indians!
BMS and BHS band and choir concert takes place tonight, May 4 at 7:00pm. BMS is getting their final rehearsal in this morning. Please come out and support our band and choir students.
BMS is at the University of Mississippi for a baseball game today to celebrate effort on the state test!
Friday News: April 28, 2023
At approximately 2:00 on the afternoon of April 27, 2023, two former Byhalia students made entry into Byhalia High School. Both were confronted by the School Resource Officer and escorted out of the building without incident. Neither person had a weapon of any type. Due to this incident, the district is evaluating its security procedures and will make necessary changes to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Friday News: April 14, 2023 - State testing begins next week for 5th and 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders will test the following week. We have attached a letter with our Friday News explaining the state testing process.

The Marshall County School District will dismiss at 12:45 today, April 5, 2023 due to the threat of inclement weather. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we want to get students home before the severe weather moves in. The line of storms coming in has produced tornadoes in other states and we want students home before those storms arrive into our area.

The Marshall County School District is aware of a perceived threat to Byhalia High School on March 31, 2023 that has been shared with students and community members. Administration and School Resource Officers have vetted the threat, and found there is no current threat, including no weapon. We understand and share concerns for the safety of our students and make it a top priority within our schools and district.
