Nurse Dancy reminds our students that a few healthy habits can help prevent the spread of germs:
Wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds.
Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue.
Don’t share drinks, food, or utensils.
Clean your backpack when you get home.
Get plenty of sleep each night.
Let’s protect ourselves, look out for one another, and keep Byhalia Middle School healthy!

SCIENCE IN ACTION!
Our 5th grade students were busy learning about photosynthesis through hands-on activity!
Students completed a photosynthesis strand and used colored beads to build, learn, and review the photosynthesis equation.
By connecting the reactants and products, students were able to see how plants use light energy, carbon dioxide, and water to make the food they need.
Learning science is even better when students can see it, build it, and explain it!

Byhalia Middle School students in grades 5–8 will participate in our Science Fair experience! Students will complete a real scientific experiment, not just a demonstration, and teachers will provide checkpoints and guidance throughout the process. Dates and checkpoints will be provided by the grade level Science teachers as needed.
Please review the attached flyer for important information. We cannot wait to see our students’ curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking in action!

Over the summer, BMS and BHS band students participated in Summer Band Camp! Their hard work and dedication helped prepare them for an exciting school year filled with great music and performances. We are proud of our talented musicians! Can't wait to hear the progress and finished product at the upcoming shows.
Great job, Dr. Harris, creating a hands-on learning experience that allowed students to apply the scientific method actively! Students collected and organized their own data, analyzed results, and connected each step of the experiment to the scientific process. The use of M&M’s made the activity engaging while maintaining a focus on meaningful learning.
