There are some great things happening at BMS! For the first time ever, our students are designing projects that will be brought to life using a 3D printer in Mr. Goodgame’s class.
Even more exciting, two of our students are designing and building something they will actually use on their four-wheelers! This is hands-on learning, creativity, and real-world problem-solving at its best.
Great job, Mr. Goodgame, for giving our students opportunities to create, innovate, and turn their ideas into something real!

Mrs. Sullivan put a fun and engaging spin on reviewing vocabulary with her students! She turned the review into a team competition where students worked together to choose the correct vocabulary term that matched the definition given.
The students were excited, engaged, and eager to participate. Great job Mrs. Sullivan!!

Elliott consistently demonstrates leadership, respect, responsibility, and a readiness to learn. We are proud to recognize his hard work and the positive example he sets for others!
Great job, Elliott! Keep rising!

Red House has taken the lead—but only 34 points separate Red and Blue! Every positive choice and every house point matters.
Keep showing responsibility, courage, respect, and integrity!

Ms. Sullivan’s 7th grade students have been working hard to strengthen their writing skills! From organizing their thoughts and developing ideas to improving sentence structure and communicating clearly, students are building skills that will help them succeed across every subject.
Strong writers become strong communicators, critical thinkers, and confident learners. These students are putting in the work to get better every day!
A big shout-out to Ms. Sullivan and her students for their hard work, focus, and commitment to growth!

Mr. Goodgame's 8th Grade Cyber Foundations students are taking technology beyond the computer screen! Students used measurement, digital design, and problem-solving skills to create replacement parts and bring their designs to life with a 3D printer.
From taking accurate measurements to designing a model and producing a physical part, students are seeing firsthand how technology can be used to solve real-world problems.
Experiences like this build skills in precision, creativity, critical thinking, and the engineering design process; while showing students some of the exciting possibilities available in technology and STEM careers.
Measure it.
Design it.
Print it.
Put it to work.
Great work, 8th Grade Cyber Foundations!

Anime Club: More Than Just a Club!
Today’s Anime Club meeting was a great reminder of what extracurricular activities can bring to our students. Anime may be the shared interest that brings these students together, but the real benefits go far beyond what they watch on a screen.
Anime Club provides students with another place to belong, build friendships, express themselves, be creative, and connect with adults and other students through something they genuinely enjoy. The stories and characters they discuss can also open the door to conversations about perseverance, friendship, teamwork, courage, responsibility, overcoming challenges, and personal growth.
As Mr. Gibson shared, anime has had a meaningful influence on his own character and who he has become, and he believes many of those same positive lessons can have an impact on our students. Today gave us a glimpse of that potential. The kids were engaged, excited, and already looking forward to the next meeting!
A huge thank you to Ms. B and the BMS Admin Team for supporting the idea, helping bring everything together, and giving our students another opportunity to find their place at BMS. Thank you as well to Mr. Gibson for bringing his passion for anime and his desire to positively impact students into the club.
And we have to give a special shout-out to Mr. Turk! Mr. Gibson pointed out how naturally Mr. Turk was able to engage students and turn their conversations into meaningful, thought-provoking discussions. Sometimes students learn the most when they don’t even realize a lesson is happening!
It takes people willing to share their interests, talents, and time to create opportunities like this for our students. Thank you to everyone who helped make Anime Club possible and to our students for making the first meeting such a success!
Anime brought them together. The connections, conversations, friendships, and growth are the real rewards.: More Than Just a Club!
Dr. Harris has her students taking science beyond the textbook with their Waves in the “Real World” Project! Students will choose a real-world technology and investigate how frequency, amplitude, and wavelength help that technology work.
From sonar, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and radar to ultrasound, X-rays, lasers, musical instruments, and more, students will see just how important waves are in the technology we use every day!
Students will create either a PowerPoint or 2–3 page paper and give a short oral presentation explaining their chosen technology and the science behind it.
Due September 15, 2026
We’re excited to see what they discover!

Mr. Martin's 6th grade students took learning into their own hands today by holding a classroom court to explore Hammurabi’s Code!
Students stepped into different roles as they examined crimes, debated consequences, and discovered just how harsh Hammurabi’s punishments could be in ancient Babylon.
Activities like this help bring history to life and give students a chance to think about justice, fairness, laws, and how societies have changed over time.
History is a lot more memorable when you get to experience it!

Anime Club members, it’s time!
Our first official Anime Club meeting is TOMORROW, September 3!
We’ll kick off the year, talk about plans and activities, share ideas, and get ready for an awesome year of Anime Club!

Tell us what makes our school great! Write a factual paragraph about something positive at our school or about one of our teachers and explain how it has helped students.
Every student who completes the challenge correctly will earn 2 House Points! The ELA team will select the best writing and decide how many bonus House Points it earns!
Be sure to include your name, grade, and house, then turn your writing in to Mr. Newman or your ELA teacher!
Let your writing earn points for your house!

This week, we’re reviewing key science skills while learning how to conserve natural resources and design solutions that help communities prepare for natural and man-made disasters.
Remember: Science tests are on Tuesdays!
Our first benchmark is the week of September 22.
Check out our newsletter to see what our scientists are learning this week!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, donated, and supported our students. Your generosity helped make the fundraiser a success!

BMS students are learning the basics of CAD design as they create their own digital models for 3D printing! Through this hands-on experience, students are developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of how ideas can move from a computer screen to a real-world object.
Our future designers, engineers, and inventors are hard at work!
Our latest Friday Memo is here! Please review the attached English or Spanish version for important reminders, progress report dates, and upcoming events.
Progress reports go home on September 3.
No school on September 7 for Labor Day.
Football game on September 8 at H.W. Byers.
Fall Benchmark Testing: September 22–24.
Thank you for helping our students rise, grow, and succeed!
We rise together. We learn together. We succeed together.
