Due to the confidence level for severe weather moving into our area at dismissal time, the Marshall County School District will dismiss school at 1:00 p.m. on March 4, 2025. As always, we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause but we feel this is a necessary precaution for the safety of our students.

BMS girls basketball team attended the Ole Miss versus South Carolina basketball game last night. Thank you to Amplify for funding the field trip opportunity for our students and coaches.



Friday News: February 28, 2025



The Marshall County School District will be open and operating on a normal schedule Friday, February 21, 2025.

Due to road conditions in many areas of the district, Marshall County Schools will be closed Thursday, February 20, 2025. We realize that many of the roads have cleared, but the safety of our students and staff are the number one priority.

Due to the strong possibility of inclement weather, the Marshall County School District will be closed Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

The official 2025-2026 Academic Calendar is now available!


Due to an ongoing situation involving the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the 2500 block of Hwy 309 South is currently shut down in both directions. This will impact bus pickup and student arrival in these areas of the Byhalia community.

Congratulations to our Term 2 BMS All Stars. These students earned at least 300 LiveSchool points for excellent classwork, exemplary behavior, and leadership in the classrom.


Friday News: January 31, 2025



Congratulations to our Top Live School earners in each grade from January 21 to January 31. These students demonstrated good citizenship, strong participations, and exemplary class work.


Due to the frigid temperatures we are experiencing, students will be allowed to dress out of uniform in warmer clothes for the remainder of the week (through Friday, January 24, 2025). No jeans with holes or leggings will be allowed.

Friday News: January 17, 2025 - No School Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Enjoy the three day weekend! Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 21.
