Project Voice at BMS

Project Voice poets Franny Choi and Elizabeth Acevedo performed at Byhalia Middle School for the entire 6th grade on Thursday, March 9th, 2017.  Additionally, they conducted two poetry workshops with groups of 25 students in the afternoon.  Project Voice uses spoken wordy poetry to entertain, educate, and inspire, and is dedicated to promoting empowerment, improving literacy, and encouraging empathy and creative collaboration in classrooms and communities around the world.  Ms. Hayley Hill, 6th grade ELA teacher at BMS, was awarded a scholarship by Project Voice, which allowed Franny and Elizabeth to travel and perform at BMS at no cost to the school.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
